Bear is a 4 year old, 65 pound, neutered male. Bear was surrendered for being too wild with his previous family, except with the dad. Bear is currently with a foster family in Ohio who have been making great progress with him and have seen wonderful positive changes with the help of exercise and his neuter!

Bear is bear-y sweet and loves his humans, knows his basic commands, and loves to play tug of war! He has the typical Airedale zoomies in the yard when he plays with his ball or chase frisbees! He settles down once he has his couple minutes of crazy time! He heels off leash in the yard, sits on command to stop, and stays until his foster dad has taken ten steps and then turns and calls Bear! Pretty good listening ears, if you ask me! Since he has been with his foster parents and they have been working on the matter, his counter surfing has become less and less and we are happy to say he has not made any attempts in several weeks or even put his feet up on the counter!

Bear had a playdate with another female Airedale to gauge how he is with other dogs. They first met through a fence and Bear barked a little bit but once the female was inside Bear's fence, they were introduced on leash and then eventually got to romp off leash. He did great! On morning walks, Bear will still bark and stand up if a dog inside a fence barks at him, but if they don't bark (or bark from inside a house), he ignores them! He is less frenzied with his barking on walks and more brief, unless he sees a rabbit or cat of course. Bear would probably do well in a home with a more submissive similar sized dog. A meet and greet would be required so we can make sure all goes well before placing him!

He is doing great with at home grooming by his foster parents. He is still not a huge fan of having his feet touched, but it's a work in progress! He is not a big fan of fireworks, but he wasn't overly upset with them either. He just wanted to be by his humans and was all good once they ended!

He is a super chewer with his dog toys and would benefit from antlers as a chew toy! Stuffed toys, beware!
