Poppy
Poppy is a young 40 pound girl with a terribly rough start to her life. Although she was rescued from a hoarding-neglect case with over 15 other dogs, she is a happy-go-lucky girl! Poppy is fearful of people and will take several weeks to warm up to her new adopter. She does like other dogs and enjoys playing with the other Airedale she came into rescue with, Daisy, but cannot play at the moment because she is heartworm positive. She is in her second month of treatment and has not had any issues! Poppy doesn't know her commands very well but is a fast learner and does not have accidents in her kennel. She is a chewer and will need mental stimulation and exercise to keep her chewing at bay. She will also need to continue to be crate trained until she grows out of her chewing. She loves her food and treats. Poppy and her sister Daisy are currently in boarding and are hoping for a soft place to land soon. Poppy would be happy to go to a home with Daisy if possible. Otherwise, having another dog in the home will be a good option as well so she can build some more confidence! Poppy will require a 6 foot fence, preferably privacy as she is a fence climber and can climb chain link.
